Yemen has carried out a new military strike targeting a significant location in the south of occupied Palestine. The operation was a joint effort with the Islamic Resistance of Iraq and is part of Yemen’s broader response to Israeli military actions in Gaza.
Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, confirmed the attack on Sunday, stating that it was executed in defense of the oppressed Palestinian people. The operation was specifically in retaliation for the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza.
Speaking on Al-Masirah TV, Sare’e detailed how the Yemeni military had used drones to successfully strike the intended target in occupied Palestine. He emphasized that this operation was one in a series of responses to Israeli attacks on Gaza, which have caused significant suffering among the Palestinian population.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces, alongside the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, will continue to respond to the crimes committed by the Israeli enemy against our brothers in Gaza,” Sare’e declared. He also made it clear that Yemen’s military operations would cease only when Israeli hostilities against Gaza stop and the siege on the territory is lifted.
The attack further highlights the growing regional involvement in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, with Yemen and Iraq joining efforts to resist Israeli aggression and offer support to Gaza. Despite the risk of escalating tensions, both nations have made it clear that their operations are a direct response to the perceived injustices against Palestinians.
This development comes amidst an already volatile regional environment, with multiple actors in the Middle East expressing solidarity with the Palestinian cause and calling for an end to Israeli airstrikes and blockades on Gaza.
As the conflict continues, Yemen and its allies have vowed to maintain their military responses as long as the aggression against Gaza persists, underscoring the broader regional implications of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian tensions.
