Manchester United are reportedly open to letting Marcus Rashford leave on loan this January, but only under specific conditions. The 27-year-old forward has expressed a desire to depart his boyhood club, citing dissatisfaction under head coach Ruben Amorim.
Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford has brought significant changes, with Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho notably excluded from the squad during last weekend’s Manchester derby. While Garnacho has since been reinstated, Rashford remained absent during United’s Carabao Cup exit against Tottenham and is expected to miss the upcoming clash with Bournemouth as well.
According to reports, United will only sanction Rashford’s departure if it is to a non-Premier League club. Insiders fear the situation is becoming “untenable,” with concerns over dressing room unrest.
Clubs in Spain, France, and Germany are reportedly monitoring Rashford’s situation, with potential interest also coming from the Saudi Pro League. Journalist Ben Jacobs has identified Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadsiah as two Saudi clubs considering a move, though Rashford has yet to express an interest in playing there.
United are adamant about not loaning Rashford to a domestic rival, ruling out possible switches to Arsenal or Chelsea. Instead, the club is exploring options abroad to “get the England striker out of the picture” temporarily.
This development comes amid broader challenges at United, including a reported £166m squad rebuild and internal discord following Rashford’s omission from the Manchester derby. Whether Rashford departs or not, his future at Old Trafford appears increasingly uncertain.
