Beijing Condemns EU Sanctions on Chinese Firms Over Ukraine

China strongly opposes EU sanctions on Chinese companies, calling them unjustified and stressing that normal China-Russia business ties should not be disrupted.

Nexnews – China has expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to the European Union’s recent sanctions targeting Chinese companies and individuals. The sanctions, which include asset freezes and visa bans, were imposed for their alleged involvement in supporting Russia during the ongoing Ukraine crisis.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian, condemned the EU’s actions, emphasizing that the sanctions are unilateral and lack a basis in international law, as they are not authorized by the UN Security Council.

In his statement, Lin reiterated China’s stance on the Ukraine conflict, asserting that China has always promoted peace and dialogue. He stressed that China has never supplied weapons to any party involved in the conflict and enforces strict controls on the export of dual-use items, including unmanned aerial vehicles, which are subject to the world’s most stringent regulations.

Lin also highlighted that normal interactions and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be disturbed or affected by these sanctions, underscoring China’s commitment to its business relations with Russia amid the ongoing geopolitical tensions.
